FOs: Kitty Pi Beds

Pattern- Kitty Pi (free online)
Yarn- Rowan Colourscape Chunky and Lamb's Pride (blue) or Rowan Cocoon (green)

We were supposed to pick up our new 10 month old kittens on Saturday, but we've had a plumbing "situation". Now everything is fixed, but we're still sleeping in the dining room until the carpet can be put back down and cleaned (probably Tuesday).
Anyway, we'll be bringing home the cats by next Saturday if not sooner. The blue bed is for Rocky/Rocket, a seal-point boy. The green one is for his sister Ziva, who is solid black with green eyes. You can see them if you go to this site and scroll down.
They are so awesome! I miss them already.

Here's a link to the blog where I got instructions on modifying Mermaid to do the collar all in one piece. I also used her tip for keeping the other color from showing through on the i-cord bind off. I highly recommend it! I've started the sleeve, but I think I need to rip it out and cast on 10 fewer stitches. The sleeves on this design are notoriously long. When I tried on the trunk show sample, I cuffed the sleeves, but I think I would prefer not to have to do that.

Yum Yum 6/18/93 - 10/31/08 I am very saddened to tell you that our beloved cat was euthanized yesterday. She was much sicker than we knew. I had her checked into the hospital to try to help her get over a respiratory infection and start eating again. Her vet discovered advanced intestinal cancer on an ultrasound. This is difficult for me because I'd be prepared to do anything to help her, but it was just too late. She had a really good life of 15 years with me, and I think she had a good death. She already had an IV line, so it was quick and peaceful. She was an extremely loving cat, and we miss her very much. It is difficult for us because Yum Yum's situation was so similar to that of Bryan's mom, who passed away in 2007. Unfortunately, we could not spare her from suffering as we did Yum Yum.
