Lady Eleanor and WIP Roundup

I've been knitting quite a bit, though I haven't been posting much of it lately. I tried to wait for a break in the rain to do some photography, but I ended up giving up and just using fill-in flash. Plus I've been really busy. Yay busy!

I'm well into the 4th skein of Silk Garden for my Lady Eleanor. Entrelac is really addictive. I'm glad I taught myself to knit backwards in preparation for Lizard Ridge. It's almost essential in order to do this project without going crazy. 

I'm also close to being done with the body of the Curved Shawl, and finished swatching for handspun socks. 



My felted Siamese cat has been reknit as a blue point, felted, and stuffed. The hard part for me is cutting out the facial features in felt and sewing them on. There's almost no way mine will be as cute as the pattern picture (though mine will have authentically blue eyes.)

 The pattern for the handspun scarf I just made is all typed up, arranged, and illustrated. I just need to look over it one more time before I post.

Yum Yum 6/18/93 - 10/31/08 I am very saddened to tell you that our beloved cat was euthanized yesterday. She was much sicker than we knew. I had her checked into the hospital to try to help her get over a respiratory infection and start eating again. Her vet discovered advanced intestinal cancer on an ultrasound. This is difficult for me because I'd be prepared to do anything to help her, but it was just too late. She had a really good life of 15 years with me, and I think she had a good death. She already had an IV line, so it was quick and peaceful. She was an extremely loving cat, and we miss her very much. It is difficult for us because Yum Yum's situation was so similar to that of Bryan's mom, who passed away in 2007. Unfortunately, we could not spare her from suffering as we did Yum Yum. Pokemon Halloween costumes

Sean wanted to be Ash, specifically from the Kalos seasons of the anime. Shirt is a modified Zippy Jacket from Blank Slate Patterns. I added white HTV to a hat with a mini iron, and I bought solid red and black fingerless gloves from Amazon and chopped and reassembled them. He won 2nd place in the kids cosplay contest at the library comic- con! Kids raglan in Knitorious "marvelous evolutions" panel and print. I absolutely love this print! Mew as Spider Gwen is so cute! Umbreon version of the Eeveelution hooded shrug free pattern from Choly Knight. http://www.cholyknight.com/2017/10/06/eevee-hooded-shrug She has free coin purse and "blob" plush patterns for all the Eeveelutions too!
